The most important class of the show sealed the week, with Irish rider Richard Howley riding his mare Dolores (Berlin x Voltaire) to the win after stopping the clock at 59,86 seconds in the second round of the CSIO5* Grand Prix of Gijon sponsored by Funeraria Gijonesa.
In seventh position after the second round, Howley managed to produce a time no other competitor was able to beat. Belgium's Gilles Dunon and Fou de Toi Vd Keihoeve (Toulon x Melkior du Montois), placed second in 61,31 seconds and third was Dutch rider Doron Kuipers on Charley (Calido I x Askari) in 63,47 seconds.
