Belgium’s Wilm Vermeir and Dirina O.H. Z (Dicasi O.H. x Clarissimon Z, bred by Guido Op 't Eynde and owned by Balito B.V.) won Thursday's CSIO4* 1.50m presented by the Polish Equestrian Federation under the patronage of Świat Koni in Warsaw, Poland.
With a time of 65.60, Vermeir and Dirina O.H. Z were the quickest pair in the 1.50m class judged as Table A against the clock and took the win ahead of Marek Lewicki (POL) and La Pezi (Lord Pezi Junior x Ludwig von Bayern, bred by Werner Brand-Kruth and owned by Josef Walat) in second in 66.56. Jaroslaw Skrzyczynski (POL) and Loulou Mpsz (Lord Pezi Junior x Semper Fi, bred by Marc Pierzina and owned by Rudolf Gärtner) placed third in 67.12, while Kevin Jochems (NED) and Camilla van de Helle (Crumble x Casall, bred by Klaus Thiedemann and owned by Stoeterij Van de Helle) finished fourth, followed by Iván Serrano Sáez (ESP) and Rain Man (Chacco-Blue x Pilot, bred by Sigrid Schmid and owned by Rasputin 301 S.L.) in fifth.
"It has been a great day and a nice one to start competitions with," Vermeir said in a press release from CSIO4* Warsaw Jumping. "Last year I won the same competition and it just feels great here. Looking back at my Poznań and Sopot scores, along with today’s one, I might consider switching my citizenship to the Polish one and represent this country."
Held at the Służewiec Racecourse, CSIO4* Warsaw Jumping host the Longines EEF Series Final this weekend. The Longines EEF Series kicked off in April with seven regional qualifiers as well as semi-finals in Ebreichsdorf (AUT) and Deauville (FRA). Teams from Ukraine, France, Belgium, Sweden, Spain, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Austria, Slovakia and Poland have qualified for this weekend's final in Warsaw.
