Marc Houtzager was crowned Dutch Champion 2017 on Sunday afternoon. Houtzager has won silver three times, and bronze twice – but on Sunday he finally claimed the gold.
This time Houtzager rode the 10-year-old Sterrehof’s Calimero (Quidam de Revel x Achill), and the pair was in a class of their own with only 1.84 penalties overall throughout the three days of competition in Mierlo. The silver medal went to Michel Hendrix and Baileys (Indoctro x Come On) with a total of 6.84 penalties, and bronze to Lisa Nooren on VDL Groep Sabech D’ha (Qredo de Paulstra x Talent Platiere) with a penalty score of 6.88.
Ben Schröder took the fourth place riding Davino Q (Vingino x Monaco) ahead of Remco Been with Holland van de Bisschop (Heartbreaker x Achill) in fifth.
