Roger-Yves Bost and Sydney Une Prince (Baloubet du Rouet x Alfa d´Elle*HN) repeated their win from Thursday night's Credit Suisse Grand Prix in Geneva, to again go to the top in Saturday's Credit Suisse Geneva Classic.
The French rider and his 9-year-old chestnut mare pleased a full Palexpo as last to go with a blistering fast round over the 1.50 speed track, taking all the risk when going on a flying six strides on the last line and then kept on moving without once pulling to the final upright. Crossing the finish line, Bosty had saved off an incredible 1.08 seconds on Emanuele Gaudiano's leading time on Admara (Padinus x Murano). Portugal's Luciana Diniz took third place on Fit For Fun (For Pleasure x Fabriano) in this competition that also counted as a qualifier for Sunday's Rolex Grand Prix.
Earlier in the day Janika Sprunger took a very popular home win in the Coupe de Genève. Riding Bonne Chance CW (Baloubet Du Rouet x Cambridge), the Swiss rider bested the field of forty riders in this 1.50 class that also was a Grand Prix qualifier. With a lot of open stretches in the jump-off, it was not much to do but to gallop on and that is exactly what Sprunger did. When the clock stopped, Janika had brought the time down to 41.08 seconds to wild cheers from the home crowds.
Runner-up was Italy's Lorenzo de Luca on Homer de Reve (Nabab de Reve x Heartbreaker), who finished 0.68 seconds behind Sprunger in this thirteen-rider jump-off. France's Patrice Delaveau and Leontine Ledimar Z HDC (Lodefever II x Grosso Z) ended third another 0.05 seconds behind De Luca.
