Germany’s David Will took his third win of the week at CHIO Aachen, when topping Sunday’s CSIO5* 1.45m Prize of Bemer International AG aboard the 11-year-old gelding Accoton PS (Pikachu de Muze x Chacco-Blue).
Coming in a little over half-way into the speed class, Will and Accoton PS blazed around the track to take the top honours with a time of 60.94 seconds – pushing their compatriot Rene Dittmer and Corsica X (Connor x Corofino II) down to the runner-up position when being 1.46 seconds faster.
"We have had him for quite a while in our stable," Will said about Accoton PS. "Richie [Editor's note: Richard Vogel, Will's colleague] has been riding him before and they were very successful in Wellington, and now since a few shows I have been riding him. He has already done good things with me too, but this is so far our biggest success. I had one down in both Grand Prix qualifications, so I did not qualify, which is a bit of a bummer for me personally. However, Richie has done amazing this week and it has been a good week for me too in the other classes – which makes it a bit better."
France’s Marc Dilasser was once again in the top three, taking the third place aboard E2K Abricot Ennemmelle (Quaprice Bois Margot x Lux Z) with a time of 62.48. Switzerland’s Alain Jufer and Dark Grey MM finished fourth (Diacasall x Grossadmiral), followed by Sweden’s Fredrik Spetz and Libido van't Hofken (Nabab de Reve x Heartbreaker) in fifth.
