David Will and the 10-year-old gelding My Prins van Dorperheide (Zilverstar T x Winningmood) took a popular home win in Saturday evening's CSI4* 1.55m Marktkauf Cup, a qualifier for Sunday’s BEMER Riders Tour Grand Prix, at CSI4* Turnier der Sieger in Münster, Germany.
Eight pairs from the 41 horse-and-rider-combinations in the class cleared the first-round track and joined the deciding jump-off, where Will was the quickest with a time of 37.89 seconds, taking home the win. Marcus Ehning (GER) and A La Carte NRW (Abke x Lux) finished second after stopping the clock at 38.49, while Alain Jufer (SUI) and Cornet MM (Cornet Obolensky x Gralshueter) placed third with a time of 38.51. Tim Rieskamp-Goedeking (GER) on Ventago (Van Helsing x Scendix) finished fourth and Marcel Marshall (GER) on Extra Strong (Diamant de Semilly x Colino) fifth.
The second CSI4* class of the day, the Preis der Firma Reflex, a 1.50m with a jump-off, was dominated by the home riders. The win went to Katrin Eckermann (GER) and Chao Lee (Comme Il Faut x Chacco-Blue), with a time of 35.85 in the jump-off. Eoin McMahon (IRL) and Chacon 2 (Chacco-Blue x Aventyno) finished second, Janne Friederike Meyer-Zimmermann (GER) on Chaka Chaka 2 (Casall x Contender) third, Rene Dittmer (GER) on Farrero (Boss x indorado) fourth and Wout-Jan van der Schans (NED) on AS Bombay (Diamant de Semilly x Contender) fifth.
