We look back at Sunday’s Rolex Grand Prix at The Dutch Masters where Henrik von Eckermann rode to victory in the first Major of the season, making himself the next live contender in the Rolex Grand Slam of Showjumping.
Only seven weeks after having won the World Cup in Amsterdam, Henrik and the 13-year-old mare Tovek’s Mary Lou conquered Den Bosch as well – with an epic jump-off against the crème de la crème of the showjumping elite. The class was worth a staggering 900.000 Euro in prize money, and Henrik went off with one third of it. As the next live contender of the Rolex Grand Slam of Showjumping, the Swedish rider has the chance to win a bonus of 250.000 Euro should he win the next Major as well – the Rolex Grand Prix of Aachen.
