The victory in Friday morning’s CSIO5* 1.45m VBR-Prize at the 2025-edition of CHIO Aachen went to Portugal’s Rodrigo Giesteira Almeida and the 10-year-old mare Karonia.L (Harley x G-Ramiro Z).
With a time of 33.37 seconds in the second phase, the Portuguese rider bested a field of 20 horse-and-rider combinations – taking the top honours ahead of Denis Lynch (IRL) and King Blue (Dallas x Chacco-Blue) in second in 33.94. Nicola Philippaerts (BEL) on H&M Que Sera (By Cera d’Ick x Diamant de Semilly) placed third in 35.31, followed by Hendrik-Jan Schuttert (NED) and Panama van’T Roosakker (Echo van’T Spieveld x Kashmir van Schuttershof) in fourth in 37.93 and Laura Baaring Kjaergaard (DEN) aboard Claire 186 (Casalito x Balou du Rouet) in fifth in 38.62.
