Pius Schwizer (SUI) and Chaquilot (Chacco-Blue x Quilot) were the fastest in Thursday’s 1.50m STAWAG Prize at CHIO Aachen. Coming in towards the end of the class, Schwizer deprived home hero Philipp Weishaupt (GER) and Coby 8 (Contagio x Escudo I) of another win when shaving off a second on their leading time. “He is a true speed specialist, very careful and he has a super attitude!” Schwizer said about Chaquilot.

Weishaupt, winner of Wednesday’s Prize of StädteRegion Aachen in memory of Landrat Hermann-Josef Pütz as well as Thursday’s Sparkassen Youngster Tour, had to settle for second place this time around – leaving Gregory Wathelet (BEL) and Iphigeneia de Muze (Erco van T Roosakker x For Pleasure) to third with a gap of 1.63 seconds up to the winners.

In 2011, the late Chacco-Blue won the Grand Prix of Aachen. Today, his offspring were shining at Soers – with three horses in the top five being sired by this incredible stallion. Empire (Chacco Blue x Quattro) finished fourth with Doron Kuipers (NED) in the saddle, and Chacgrano (Chacco-Blue x Grannus) fifth with Patrick Stühlmeyer (GER).
