Petronella Andersson (SWE) and the 11-year-old mare Olympke van’t Merelsnest (Vigo d’Arsouilles x Quick Star) took a popular home win in Friday’s CSI5*-W 1.50m Prize of Mips – a competition counting for the Longines Rankings Group C – at Gothenburg Horse Show 2025 in Sweden.

Stopping the clock on 59.83 seconds, the 34-year-old Swede took the top honours on home soil ahead of Max Kühner (AUT) and EIC Up Too Jacco Blue (Chacco-Blue x Ard VDL Douglas) in second with a time of 60.12. The hosts came in strong, with Linda Heed (SWE) and Skylander VS (Stolzenberg x Cassini II) placing third in 61.36, while Hannes Ahlmann (GER) and Tokyo 4 (Toulon x San Patrignano Cassini) finished fourth in 61.37 and Donald Whitaker (GBR) on Millfield Colette (Cornet Obolensky x Clearway) fifth in 61.87.

“My plan was not to hold back, and I had watched the riders before me, so I knew what was needed. I gave everything I had,” Petronella Andersson said in a press release from Gothenburg Horse Show. “We have competed in lower classes to make things easier for her. When horses find things easy, they gain confidence, and that’s when you can move up in classes."

The second CSI5*-W class of the day, the 1.45m Prize of Maria Åkerberg, went to Switzerland's Edouard Schmitz and Abdul-Jabbar du Gibet (Arezzo VDL x Charlie Z). With a time of 62.33 seconds, the Swiss rider took the win ahead of Harrie Smolders (NED) and Deesse de Kerglenn (Mylord Carthago x Crusador) in second in 62.48 and Peder Fredricson (SWE) aboard Hansson WL (Hip Hop x Iowa) in third in 62.92.
