At Equieffe Equestrian Centre in Gorla Minore, Italy, Piergiorgio Bucci and the 12-year-old gelding Emerald's Dream (Emerald x Nabab de Reve) took a popular home win in Sunday's CSI4* 1.55m Grand Prix presented by Mascheroni Selleria.
A total of 45 horse-and-rider combinations had lined up for the Grand Prix, and ten of them moved on to the jump-off where Bucci clocked the fastest clear round in 37.54 seconds. Not far behind, in 37.76 seconds, Torben Köhlbrandt (GER) and Mastermind RL (Mylord Carthago x Aøcartraz) took the runner-up spot, followed by Gerfried Puck (AUT) and Idiaal Special H.J. (Falaise de Muze x Carinjo) in third with a time of 38.01 seconds.
Jean-Maurice Brahier (SUI) and Caracoles (Chacco-Blue x Lifestyle) – the winners of Friday's Grand Prix qualifier – were 0.30 seconds slower than Puck to finished fourth, while Steve Guerdat (SUI) – doing his first international show back after his back surgery in February – completed the top five riding Albführen's Iashin Sitte (Bamako de Muze x Tinka's Boy) to the fastest time in the jump-off, 35.46 seconds, but on the expense of a rail down.
