Glock's London

It is time for another WoSJ Close-Up, and this time the focus is on the amazing Glock's London - one of the most successful horses in the sport. All photos (c) Jenny Abrahamsson.

London
London celebrated his birthday this month; he was born on the 6th of June in 2002 and given the name Carembar de Muze.

London
He is by Nabab de Reve out of the mare Ta Belle van Sombeke that is by Chin Chin. London's breeder is no other than the famous Joris de Brabander, that has bred some of the world's best horses.

London
"He was a star from the beginning. I did a huge mistake selling half of him to a friend of mine and after he performed really well as a youngster he was sold to Eurocommerce as a five year old. Normally he was a horse I wouldn't have sold, but we got good money for him – even though we probably sold him way too cheap when you look at his career today," Joris laughs.

London
Today, London is one of the most successful horses in the world. Together with Gerco Schröder he took double silver at the 2012 Olympic Games, and at the 2014 World Championships he was on the gold medal winning team.

London
His former groom Lais, described London as “the best stallion ever!" To World of Showjumping she said: "He is so nice and quiet and he is never screaming or being stupid. You can hardly notice he is a stallion. London can be a bit of a naughty boy though, pulling down blankets or playing around when I hand walk him – just to get attention.”

London
London has won numerous Grand Prix classes throughout his career; in Rio, Cannes, Doha and Vienna to mention some!

London
London has also contributed big time on the Dutch team, and was a part of taking home the most prestigious Nations Cup in the world in Aachen in 2013.

London
Before he got his Glock-prefix, London flew the Eurocommerce colors.

London
In 2014 London went under the hammer in an online-auction of the former Eurocommerce-horses, before the Glock-family stepped in and bought the stallion keeping him together with Gerco. Now both Gerco and London are Glock ambassadors.
