It was the BWP gelding Kerswin van’t Roosakker (Echo van't Spieveld x Diamant de Semilly) that was crowned best 5-year-old at the FEI World Breeding Championships in Lanaken on Sunday. Ridden by Netherlands’ Doron Kuipers, Kerswin van’t Roosakker was one of nine horses moving on to the jump-off for the medals after clearing the first round track.

Some of the 5-year-olds looked a bit tired today after a long weekend at Zangersheide, and some were very impressed by the surroundings in the big ring that hosted the final. With 1/5 of the horses reaching the jump-off, the course building was quite spot on though.

It ended with a convincing victory for Kuipers and Kerswin van’t Roosakker, who finished the jump-off more than a second faster than silver medalists Yves Vanderhasselt from Belgium on the BWP stallion Keops v. Begijnakker (Indoctro x Lux Z). The bronze medalist was Willem Greve riding the KWPN-mare Formidable, that is a daughter of his top horse Carambole.
