Two big names claimed the CSI3* wins in Kiel on Saturday; Janne-Friederike Meyer took home the Preis der Warsteiner Brauerei and Rolf-Göran Bengtsson the Championat von Kiel.

Meyer's home win in the 1.50 Longines Ranking class was a popular one, and it did not come easy as the German rider had to face no less than eleven others in the jump-off. Riding the grey 10-year-old mare Charlotta (Contini x Piano II), Meyer was one of three German riders on the podium as Mike Patrick Leichle took second on Folinde van het Slagershof (Contact van de Heffinck) and Therese Ripke third on Calmado (Casall).

"Last year here, I said that it was a year of building up my nice young horses and that is excactly how it went. And I am very happy for Charlotta, who sometimes is a bit in the shadows of Goya. Maybe she wanted to tell us who the queen of the stable really is," smiled Meyer after her win.

The 1.45 Championat of Kiel was won by Rolf-Göran Bengtsson on Oak Grove's Heartfelt (Heartbreaker x Rubens Du Ri D'Asse). In second followed Lars Bak Andersen for Denmark and in third Mike Patrick Leicle for Germany.
