The German riders continued to dominate in Braunschweig on Saturday, with Christian Ahlmann and Holger Wulschner taking home the two biggest classes of the day.

In-form Christian Ahlmann followed up his winning streak when he recorded his third big victory for the 2016-season heading the 1.50 Veolia Championat, that also counted for the Longines Ranking. The world no. six's partner was the 13-year-old stallion Colorit (Coriano x Capitol I), that Ahlmann also won the Mercedes German Masters on back in November last year.

Second was Peder Fredicson on H&M Flip's Little Sparrow (Carento 933 x Robin Z), the now 10-year-old daughter of Malin Baryard-Johnsson's former super star Butterfly Flip. The Swedish rider had more than three seconds up to Ahlmann in the second round, and was followed by Ireland's Denis Lynch on Zamora (Quasimodo Z x Nimmerdor) that again was almost five seconds behind the winner.

"He is very experienced, already had good results with David Will and is very uncomplicated. He makes it really easy for the rider," said Ahlmann of Colorit. "The preciseness in the adjustments takes a bit longer, it is not something that comes in a few weeks. The finesse will follow," Ahlmann continued about his partnership with the stallion that began last summer.

In the 1.50 Preis der Deutschen Kreditbank AG, also counting for the Longines Ranking, Holger Wulschner took the win on BSC Skipper (Stolzenberg x Lord Liberty). Almost a second behind in the jump-off was Cassio Rivetti and Lagerfeld (Lauterbach x Calvaro Z), who secured the runner-up position for Ukraine. Again, Peder Fredricson showed great form to end third on the 9-year-old H&M Zaloubet, a son of his former ride Maloubet de Pleville.
