Friday evening’s 1,50m class ‘Prize of French Tour Generali’ at the CSI5*-W event in Bordeaux was won by home rider Simon Delestre with the 12-year-old stallion Chadino (Chacco-Blue x Narew xx).
It was a speed class with 41 participants, and as many as 14 went clear around the course consisting of 12 fences including three combinations – set by course designer Uliano Vezzani (ITA). As this class was the qualification for Saturday evening’s Longines FEI World Cup class it was important for many.
For Delestre it was his first International win aboard Chadino and it was a convincing one with over a second down to Maikel van der Vleuten (NED) and VDL Groep Arera C (Indoctro x Voltaire). Delestre was of course very happy with his partner. Although Chadino normally is not the fastest horse, Delestre was in full controle today and could take advantage of the stallions qualities.
Denis Lynch (IRL) secured third place riding the 14-year-old All Star 5 (Argentinus x Alme), Daniel Deusser (GER) with Hidalgo SX (Quadrillo x Andiamo) and Penelope Leprevost (FRA) with Ratina d’la Rousserie (Quaprice Bois Margot x Apache d’Adriers).
