Italian rider Alberto Zorzi and the 11-year-old old mare Veronese Teamjoy (Toulon x Dollar Dela Pierre) won Saturday’s 1.45m El Jundi Art Gallery Small Grand Prix at the CSI4* Sunshine Tour. Zorzi, who riders for Tops Stables in the Netherlands, was 0.08 of a second faster than Japanese rider Daisuke Fukushima who also flew round the Milton arena on his lovely gelding Conblue (Conthargos x Chacco Blue). Jonathan Gordon came in third riding Dorotheental’s Classica (Classe x Cassini I).

Only six riders from the 90 entries, jumped clear in the first round. The course proved to be a very difficult track. Eventually, it was an exciting jump-off for the crowd watching and a very close finish.

Sunday’s Big Tour Grand Prix sponsored by the Junta de Andalucía will be the highlight of the week, and brings this third week of competition to a close as the halfway point of this year’s Sunshine Tour is marked
