Alberto Zorzi has left Stal Tops in Valkenswaard, the Netherlands and returned to Italy to stay close to his family.

Speaking of his future plans, Zorzi tells World of Showjumping: "I have decided to go back to Italy, to stay close to my family. At the moment, I am enjoying life here and will start riding again after some down time. I will probably rent a stable and start a business on my own. Even though I know life can change, my plan for the next few years is to stay in Italy. I would like to start with young horses and produce them. Of course one day I would like to be in top sport again: I love the top sport, and hope to be back one day."

"I would like to thank Jan, Edwina and Athina for giving me this amazing opportunity to jump their incredible horses," Zorzi says to World of Showjumping. "I am very happy, because we ended our partnership on good terms and I can look back at seven amazing years together. It was important for me to end this period in my life on good terms with everyone."

"Throughout the past seven years we have been fortunate to have Alberto part of not only the Stal Tops team but also Valkenswaard United," Edwina Tops-Alexander tells World of Showjumping. "We have many wonderful memories with Alberto and we want to wish him and his family all the best for a bright future."
