Scuderia 1918 has today announced that they have added yet another rider to their team, as Alberto Zorzi is joining their squad of showjumpers alongside Giulia Martinengo Marquet, Lorenzo De Luca, Piergiorgio Bucci and Alberto Zorzi, as well as Kevin Staut and Daniel Deusser.
Zorzi recently announced that he would be returning to Italy after spending the last seven years working at Stal Tops in Valkenswaard, The Netherlands. Zorzi is now establishing his new headquarters in stables in Monteviale near Vicenza, and it is from there that he will start over with new horses.
“I am really happy to have joined Team Scuderia 1918, a group of exceptional riders who are also all my friends. This is going to be a great team and we will certainly do our very best,” Zorzi said in a press release from Scuderia 1918. “The dream is always the same, and that means riding in the Olympic Games. This will require a great deal of work, training important horses so as to participate in great sport. Once this is achieved, we can think about the Olympics. So initially we will work on producing great horses to then continue our careers together. I will continue to ride wearing my Italian Army uniform and am very grateful to the army for always supporting the choices I make.”
“Having added Alberto Zorzi to the team, Scuderia 1918 is creating the foundations for making the difference in our sport over the long term,” said Emanuele Anchisi on behalf of Scuderia 1918.
