Starting as number one in Thursday's CSI5* 1.50m – the feature class of the day at Hubside Jumping in Grimaud, France – Simon Delestre (FRA) could never be dethroned by his forty-three competitors. With Chesall Zimequest (Casall x Concerto II), he delivered a clear round in 60.83 seconds which was synonymous with a victory at the CSI5 * Hubside Fall Tour. The Frenchman finished ahead of his compatriot Roger-Yves Bost, who was second with Castelforbes Talitha (Cardenio x Baloubet du Rouet) in 60.88. The podium was completed by Denis Lynch (IRL), who stopped the clocks at 61.65 seconds with GC Chopin's Bushi (Contendro II x Nairobi).

"Chesall Zimequest is a naturally fast horse and I had a very good feeling with this track," said Delestre. "I stuck to my plan, and everything came out fine. Starting as number one, I doubted the final result. Three quarters into the class, I realized that my competitors were fast so I was thinking about a placing but would not bet on a victory."

Earlier in the day, Julien Epaillard (FRA) topped the 1.45m with Usual Suspect d'Auge (Jarnac x Papillon Rouge). He was followed by Scott Brash (GBR) on Hello Franklin (Billy Mexico x Goodtimes) in second and Jerome Guery (BEL) on Great Britain V (Nabab de Reve x Carolus II) in third.
