The foal auction on the venerable grass of the Hamburg Derby grounds is entering its fourth round. A successful premiere in 2017 - on the occasion of the emotional farewell of the great Casall from international sport - was followed by two more auctions. And this year, Roland Metz, Managing Director of the Holsteiner Verband Vermarktungs- und Auktions GmbH, has once again succeeded in putting together an extremely interesting lot for the fourth edition.
The pedigrees read like a Who's Who of modern show jumping. From Casall, Clarimo, Diarado and Vingino to younger sires such as For Treasure, Cornetaro, Keaton, Chubakko, Chezarro and Corfu de la Vie, there is something for everyone. But as is well known, nowadays it is not only the sires that arouse the customers' desires - but rather the dam lines that have been cultivated over generations. And this is precisely the special strength of horse breeding from the land between the seas.
The direct dam lines of the selected foals include numerous international athletes, such as Chaka Chaka (Janne-Friederike Meyer-Zimmermann), Coupe de Couer (Rene Tebbel/Ludger Beerbaum), Livello (Cameron Hanley/Angelica Augustsson-Zantonelli), Cefalo (Holger Wulschner), Pikeur Dylon (Markus Brinkmann) or Calle Cool, who famously left the Derby ring with Nisse Lüneburg as the winner twice.
Are you also looking for a future winner? Then don't miss the auction, which will of course be held in hybrid format, on Saturday afternoon, 28 August!
