It was double Irish on top in Thursday's CSI4* 1.50m Grand Prix qualifier at the Andalucia Sunshine Tour in Vejer de la Frontera, Spain. Billy Twomey won the class with the 12-year-old Frenchy VDS (Cornet Obolensky x Quidam de Revel), clocking a time of 59.24 seconds over the 11-fence track set by Javier Trenor. Runner-up was Twomey's compatriot Eoin Gallagher (IRL) on Over Lux (Lux Z x Cruising), with a time of 59.67 seconds.

Twenty of the 70 horse-and-rider combinations in the class qualified for Sunday's Big Tour Grand Prix, and with 33 clear rounds the riders had to speed up to make it. Third place went to Pedro Veniss (BRA) with Böckmanns Lord Pezi Junior (Böckmann's Lord Pezi x Quattro), who stopped the clock at 60.91 seconds, while Marcus Westergren (SWE) finished fourth with Astree de Burgo (Kannan x Socrate de Chivre) in 61.47 and Sara Vingralkova (CZE) fifth with Mega Special DC (I'm Special de Muze x Landadel) in 62.75.
