Two and a half years after reaching the top of the Longines Rankings for the first time in his career, Martin Fuchs (SUI) is once again world number one, pushing Peder Fredricson (SWE) down from the top – where he has been since October 2021.

Fuchs tops the ranking with a total of 3156 points, after a number of top performances over the last months. “To be number one is very special and a big success for me, because it reflects the performance of a whole year and not just one tournament,” Fuchs said in a press release from FEI.  “It’s a fantastic feeling and a great satisfaction for the whole team around me.”

In April, the Swiss rider added the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ title that he won in Leipzig (GER) to the individual European gold medal he bagged at the Longines FEI Jumping European Championship in Rotterdam (NED) in 2019, and to his team gold and individual silver from the Longines FEI Jumping European Championship in Riesenbeck (GER) in 2021.

Henrik von Eckermann (SWE) has jumped one spot up on the Longines Ranking and is now second on 2964 points, while Peder Fredricson is down to rank three with 2950 points. Ben Maher (GBR) and Conor Swail (IRL) stay as rank four and five, with 2733 and 2686 points respectively.

Harrie Smolders (NED) moves one spot up to rank six, while Marlon Modolo Zanotelli (BRA) and Kent Farrington (USA) each fall one spot down to rank seven and eight. Daniel Deusser (GER) moves up one spot to rank nine, while Kevin Staut (FRA) makes a giant climb going from rank 17 to 10 – pushing Mclain Ward (USA) out of the Top 10.

Reflecting on his consistency, which has kept him in the top four on the ranking since the beginning of 2020, Fuchs said to the FEI: “I am very proud to have been able to mingle at the top of the sport for so long. Of course, this also has to do with the great environment I can count on."

“Good sponsors and horses, my family, my team, grooms and my girlfriend make it possible for me to fully concentrate on the sport and deliver the best performances under the best conditions.”
