At the middle of November it was announced that after sixteen hugely successful years as Chef d’Equipe for the Dutch showjumpers, Rob Ehrens’ contract with the Dutch Equestrian Federation (KNHS) would not be renewed.  The decision caught many by surprise, including Ehrens himself who said he did not see it coming at all. “I am not easily upset, but I have to be honest and say that this really hurts,” he commented to World of Showjumping.

Nevertheless, Ehrens also managed to look at the bright side – saying: “I look back at 16 years as a Dutch Chef d’Equipe with a lot of pleasure, remembering many good results, good communication and great relationships with my riders.”

With this photo special with a few great memories from our archives, we pay tribute to Rob – one of the most charismatic, friendly and including Chef d’Equipes we have met while doing WoSJ!
