Khaled Almobty (KSA) and the 14-year-old stallion Davenport VDL (Diamant de Semilly x Indoctro) took a home win in Saturday’s CSI5*-W 1.55m Grand Prix in Riyadh.
Besting a field of 15 horse-and-rider combinations, the two crossed the finish line in a time of 41.67 seconds in a jump-off of seven. Abdulrahman Alrajhi (KSA) and Heartbeat W (Baloubet du Rouet x Heartbreaker) had to settle for the runner-up spot when the clock stopped on 42.38 for another popular home pair, while a time of 42.87 saw Christopher Kläsener (GER) and Popeye vd Bisschop (Lector vd Bisschop x Nabab de Reve) place third.
Emanuele Camilli (ITA) and Chacco’s Girlstar (Chacco-Blue x Sandro Boy) followed in fourth in 43.11, while Adam Grzegorzewski (POL) and Issem (Quality Time TN x Clinton) finished fifth.
