Italy's Alberto Zorzi won Friday's feature class – the 1.50m Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ qualification – at the CSI5*-W event in Leipzig, Germany.
Riding the 11-year-old mare Danique (Zento x Hamlet), Zorzi snatched the victory from the hosts by 0.44 seconds leaving yesterday's winner Felix Haßmann to the runner-up position aboard the 16-year-old Balzaci (Balou du Rouet x Ex Libris). Third place went to Dutch rider Maikel van der Vleuten on Idi Utopia (Quasimodo Z x Darco), 0.55 seconds behind the winning time.
Austria's Max Kühner finished fourth on Vancouver Dreams (Valentino x Stakkato), and Sweden's Irma Karlsson fifth on Ida van de Bisschop (Kashmir van Schuttershof x Papillon Rouge).
Earlier in the day, it was another Italian win when Lorenzo De Luca went to the top in the 1.45m IDEE Kaffee-Preis on the 9-year-old Evita van't Zoggehof (Figo de Muze x Rubens Di Ri D'Asse).
