Ireland's Billy Twomey went to the top in Saturday's CSI5*-W 1.50-1.60m Prix Merial in Lyon.
Riding the 12-year-old Irish bred Ardcolum Duke (Gypsy Duke x Clover Hill), Twomey beat a field of almost 50 riders to claim the top prize of 6250 Euro. Eleven riders produced clear rounds in this competition against the clock, and it was Billy that was the fastest one in 28.69 seconds.
With a time of 29.26 seconds followed Spain's Sergio Alvarez Moya on Arrayan (Baloubet du Rouet x Grannus), while Austria's Max Kühner ended third on Electric Touch (Untouchable Z x T'is Voltaire) in 30.45 seconds. Fourth went to Germany's Maurice Tebbel and fifth to Italy's Emanuele Massimiliano Bianchi.
