Saturday's Golden Drum of Basel – the championat of the city of Basel – ended with double Irish on top. Aboard the 10-year-old mare Lady Lou (Lord Z x Caesario), Billy Twomey went off with the victory ahead of Denis Lynch on Dito (Diarado x Canturo) with 1.35 seconds separating the two in the jump-off.
Third place in this 1.50m class went to the Spain's Eduardo Alvarez Aznar on Uqualin du Saulcy (Quaprice x Voltaire), while Italy's Lucia Le Jeune Vizzini finished fourth and Ireland's Bertram Allen fifth.
Earlier in the day, Martin Fuchs made it a home win in the 1.45m Prize of Dach+Holzech GmbH riding Cristo (Cristo x Stakkato) to a clear round in 57.52 seconds. French rider Olivier Robert came closest on Vangog du Mas Garnier (Windows vh Costersveld x Quidam de Revel), only a tenth of a second slower. Robert's compatriot Roger Yves Bost followed in third on Castleforbes Talitha (Cardenio x Baloubet Du Rouet).
