Henrik von Eckermann (SWE) and the 10-year-old mare Iliana (Cardento x Gentleman) took a home win in Thursday's CSI5*-W 1.50m Prize of Volkswagen at Gothenburg Horse Show, Sweden.

Thirteen out of the 30 horse-and-rider combinations participating in the class made it to the jump-off, but with Angelica Augustsson Zanotelli (SWE) and Kalinka van de Nachtegaele (Epleaser van T Heike x Cicero Z van Paemel) withdrawing, it was twelve left to battle it out over the shortened course.

In the jump-off, von Eckermann stopped the clock on 36.01 seconds – only 0.02 seconds faster than runner-up Julien Anquetin (FRA) and Gravity of Greenhill (Nabab de Reve x Conterno-Grande). It took third placed Wilm Vermeir (BEL) and Enola Gay of Two Notes Z (Emerald x Chin Chin) 1.44 seconds longer to finish the jump-off track, and they were followed by Rolf-Göran Bengtsson (SWE) and Zuccero (VDL Zirocco Blue x Caretino) in fourth and Harrie Smolders (NED) and Dolinn (Cardento x Lux) in fifth.

Earlier in the evening, Pius Schwizer (SUI) and Ambrosio d’Alcy (Cabdula du Tillard x Calvaro F.C.) won the 1.45m Prize of Mips. Schwizer crossed the finish line in 51.75 seconds, followed by Henrik von Eckermann and Dzara Dorchival (Qlassic Bois Margot x Raphael) in 53.53 seconds. The third place went to Thibeau Spits (BEL) and Juragold Bormes (Contact van de Heffinck x Landino), while fourth place went to Richard Howley (IRL) and Mansini Ltd (Caressini L x Marramas) and fifth place to Erica Swartz (SWE) with Jovita (Carabas vd Wateringhoeve x Jokinal de Bornival).
