Longines FEI World Cup Final 2014
On a day with as many as 21 clears, nobody could match this couple in the jump-off as Kent Farrington rode a beautiful and extremely fast round on the stunner Voyeur keeping the door open for bringing the World Cup title to America for a third consecutive year. All photos (c) Jenny Abrahamsson.
Friday's winner Pius Schwizer rode Toulago yesterday and was clear in the first round.
Kristaps Neretnieks was eager to do better than Friday, and rode a beautiful and determined clear round.
After a good first day, three poles fell for Abdelkebir Ouaddar and Quickly de Kreiser.
While Tinka's Serenade knocked the second vertical and the front pole down on the oxer for Billy Twomey - after the 17 year old mare jumped clear the first day.
This little horse is incredible! Nougat du Vallet was clear in the first round with Katie Dinan, and then had two down towards the end of the jump-off as the US couple - one of six Americans in it - chased the clock.
The crowds went crazy as home rider Kevin Staut was clear on Silvana HDC, but then in the jump-off things unfortunately went wrong. The a-element in the combination fell, and then the 15 year old mare put on the brakes on the following plank before she had it down on the second try.
The beautiful Lordan - Nayel Nassar's ride.
Lucy Davis and Barron had the a-element in the combination that followed on a four stride line from an oxer down in the first round.
No mistakes for the world number ones: Scott Brash was double clear on Ursula XII.
First Division showed his quality yesterday with Brazil's Yuri Mansur Guerios and was clear in the first round, and then had the penultimate plank down in the jump-off.
