France's Julien Gonin and the 10-year-old mare Estrella de la Batia (Diamant de Semilly x Lando) took a home win in Friday's CSI5*-W 1.50m Prix Groupama to kick off the 2024-edition of Longines Equita Lyon – host to the forth leg of the 2024/2025 Longines FEI Jumping World Cup Western European League.
Crossing the finish line in 56.60, the French duo bested a starting field of 56 horse-and-rider combinations in the competition judged as a Table A and counting for the Longines Rankings Group D.
Romain Duguet (SUI) and Bel Canto de Boguin (Grenat de Grez HN x Arpege Pierreville) followed in second place in 57.38, while Pieter Devos (BEL) and Jarina J (Cicero Z x Harley) placed third in 59.55, Simon Delestre (FRA) on Olga van de Kruishoeve (El Torreo de Muze x Nabab de Reve) fourth in 59.78 and Olivier Perreau (FRA) aboard GL Events Faustine Sauvage (Kannan x Ivanohe Sauvage) fifth in 59.95.
