Simon Delestre (FRA) and the only 9-year-old Cayman Jolly Jumper (Hickstead x Quaprice Bois Margot Quincy) won Saturday evening's CSI5*-W 1.60m Longines Grand Prix of La Coruña at the Casas Novas Winter Edition in Spain.
Out of the 42 horse-and-rider combinations in the class, six produced a clear round to move on to the jump-off where Delestre was the only rider to produce a double clear with a time of 41.28 seconds. Eoin McMahon (IRL) stopped the clock at 35.48 seconds, but with a rail down he had to settle for the runner-up position with Chakra (Casall x Quidam de Revel). Third place went to Marc Houtzager (NED) on Sterrehof's Dante (Canturano x Phin-Phin), also he on four faults and a time of 35.70. Rodrigo Giesteira Almeida (POR) finished fourth with Jorden van de Kruishoeve (Nabab de Reve x For Pleasure), with four faults in the jump-off, while Julien Anquetin (FRA) took the fifth place with Blood Diamond du Pont (Diamant de Semilly x Arpege Pierreville) after recording eight faults in the jump-off.
