The entry list for this week's RDS Dublin Horse Show includes Sweden's Henrik von Eckermann – current world number one, as well as Great Britain's Olympic team gold medallist Ben Maher – current world number two. They will be joined by Switzerland's Olympic vice-champion Steve Guerdat and his compatriot Martin Fuchs, as well as big names such as McLain Ward and Laura Kraut for the U.S., Daniel Deusser for Germany, and Harrie Smolders for the Netherlands. The hosts come strong in force of course, with Shane Sweetnam, Cian O’Connor, Conor Swail, and Darragh Kenny among the many top Irish riders who will be competing on home soil.
Two of the highlights in Dublin will be Friday's Nations Cup of Ireland for the award of the Aga Khan Trophy, and Sunday's €500,000 Rolex Grand Prix of Ireland.
The Rolex Series was launched in May this year, uniting six of the most prestigious equestrian shows in the world. Revealed at the inaugural Rolex Series’ event – the CSIO5* Roma Piazza di Siena – the Rolex Series also includes CSIO5* Jumping International de La Baule, CSI5* Jumping International de Dinard, CSIO5* Dublin Horse Show, CSIO5* Brussels Stephex Masters, and the CSI5* Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington.
