Hi again,
This time we are in my favourite city, Rome. It is a long way here, we left Tuesday evening from home and drove about 12 hours to our first stop right on the border between Austria and Italy. Like most of the weekends, I am travelling with Ludger's horses and his groom Marie. This weekend we have with us Gotha, Cantinero, For Sale and Chiara.
After a day of resting we hit the road again and got here early this morning. This venue is a new one and coming to any show for the first time can be a little bit stressfull, as you don't want to get lost and end up somewhere too narrow with a truck. Not so easy to turn these things, you know... Luckily I had some help from a friend who lives in Rome, so I knew what kinda signs I should follow when entering the city. So I completely ignored both the navigation and Marie screaming at me and just went "trust me, I know what I am doing" - and prayed that those goddamn signs will show up. And boom, they did and we found the place at the first try. Marie was impressed and I am forever thankful to my friend :)
Now we are waiting to do the vet check, we have been riding the horses in the arena and they all seem to have travelled well and are happy. Our riders arrive later tonight and the show starts tomorrow.
I love Rome and I didn't think there could be a prettier show than the one there is at Piazza di Siena every year, but this place is just unbelievably pretty. I am going to let the pictures do the rest of the talking and say no more!
