Excitement is already building and everyone is looking forward to the event. Holger Hetzel and his team are in the final stages of their preparations for the 11th Sport Horse Sales. Next week, on Wednesday 2 December 2015, 24 young horses aged between five and eight will change hands during the internationally famous auction at Hetzel’s equestrian centre in Goch.

Try outs in a unique atmosphere

The picturesque village of Goch has been an international rendezvous for some of the big names in the equestrian community for weeks already. Riders, sponsors and horse fans from around the globe have travelling there to take a look at this year's auction collection. The four-legged athletes are being tried out by successful international professional riders as well as juniors and amateurs, all of them eager to gain their own personal impressions of the horses’ qualities.

“Whatever the weather, the atmosphere inside the indoor arena during the try-outs is always enjoyable. All the riders obviously feel very much at home there and the horses have been performing fantastically,” said Holger Hetzel, obviously proud. “As a show jumper and horse enthusiast I’m thoroughly enjoying watching them”.

Potential buyers can take their time in trying out the horses that have been selected in advance to reflect their individual needs before the auction. They also get comprehensive information about every single horse from Holger and his team, plus impressive competition videos of all the horses.

Public demonstration on Sunday

The now traditional public demonstration of all auction horses takes place on Sunday 29 November 2015 at 10 a.m. Afterwards there will be an opportunity to ride the horses and enjoy the typical Hetzel hospitality at a brunch. “Top international riders from Germany and abroad have said they’ll be coming along on Sunday to try out one or two of the horses under optimum conditions,” said Holger Hetzel. So there’ll be a full programme on Sunday and the young horses will have a last opportunity to persuade potential buyers”. The event is open to the public, so everyone is welcome to spend the first Sunday of Advent at Holger Hetzel’s place. And experience these amazing jumping horses in action!

The big day...

Then the main event is scheduled for the following Wednesday 2 December 2015, when the select collection of horses is presented under the saddle for one last time at 5 p.m. before the auction begins at 9 p.m. and a new auction decade dawns.
