Breeding and equestrianism enthusiasts from all over the world expected at the Holsteiner Neumünster Sales from 29 to 31 October.

The 2015 riding horse selection is characterized by interesting and proven bloodlines: Casall (Ask), the current Holsteiner breeding stallion and sport horse role model is represented by four offspring. Last year, the top-selling elite riding horse, Dito, discovered and purchased by Australian show jumper Chris Chugg, was by Diarado, the celebrated 2007 champion stallion. This year, the Diamant de Semilly son has two offspring selected for Neumünster. Proven sires like Clarimo, Clearway, Nekton or Quidam de Revel are represented by offspring same as stallions at the beginning of their breeding career like for example Captain Fire, Cassilano, Companiero, or Uriko, to name just a few.

This year, the 36 three- to six-year-old auction horses listed in the catalogue are publicly presented for the first time at the Elmshorn Fritz-Thiedemann-Hall on 13 October at 7.00 p.m.. Prospective buyers have ample opportunity to try out and test the horses at the Elmshorn headquarters from 14 to 24 October. The last opportunity for clients to jump the horses is in Elmshorn, on 24 October.

At the Holstenhall, the horses will be presented over the jumps free and under saddle to provide interested parties with a concluding impression of “their” candidate. In the course of the pre-selection, Sigrun Günther, Wulf-Hinrich Hamann and Peter Glisic have seen about 150 horses and the auction manager is very satisfied with the quality of the selected horses. The offering includes horses with results in competition – some even with wins and placings to M level and qualified for the national championship – as well as a number of three-year-olds with an “excellent free jumping performance” according to Peter Glisic who is also drawing attention to some candidates for the American show hunter market and for eventing where Holsteiners play an important role.

WE LIKE TO PRESENT TO YOU SOME HORSES OUT OF THIS YEAR'S COLLECTION:

All we need (Almoretto x Con Capitol)

All we need, a 4-year-old Almoretto son.
All we need, a 4-year-old gelding by Almoretto.

All we need, a 4-year-old Almoretto son, embodies numerous traits desirable for a modern young performance horse. Quick and easy on his feet, with good riding horse traits and tremendous jumping ability, he demonstrated impressive form already at his first outings, winning a young jumper class at A* level at 8.4. His dual ability sire Almoretto qualified for the national young horse championships in jumping and the following year also in dressage. Now the stallion is being shown in FEI dressage tests at S level to great success. The direct dam line has already produced the licensed stallion Franklin, the KWPN licensed stallion Freedom, as well a show jumping offspring with achievements to S level.

Consoto (Cancara x Larno)

Consoto, a 4-year-old stallion by Cancara
Consoto, a 4-year-old stallion by Cancara.

Consoto, a 4-year-old stallion by Cancara, is a particular promising jumping talent in our collection, with a performance under saddle to match his impressive free jumping, very expressive and dynamic. Consoto – the auction team’s recommendation for sport riders with international ambitions looking for that special something. His sire Cancara, currently a breeding stallion in California, carries the blood of the successful stallions Cassini I and Corofino I. Consoto’s dam, state premium mare M-Lexika, is also dam to a show jumper with achievements to S level. The direct dam line has produced other highly interesting show jumpers placed to S level, like for example ABC Jessika (Christian Slawinski), MCB Chanel (Pia-Luise Aufrecht) and Hermoine VI (David Simpson).

Count Ebony (Casall x Acobat II)

Count Ebony by Casall.
Count Ebony, a five-year-old gelding by Casall.

Count Ebony is a particular interesting son of Casall. He had been approved and intended as a breeding and sport stallion, but as his career as a Holsteiner Verband stallion was discontinued due to sperm deficiencies. First succes in young jumper classes at A and L level emphasize his particular quality and make him a highly recommendable sport horse. Count Ebony‘s dam, Roma II, is a half sister to the Westfalia approved stallions Cornado I+II, highly successful FEI top performers under their riders Marcus Ehning and Christian Ahlmann. Count Ebony’s second dam has also produced the successful S level show jumpers Calantus and Chief’s Hope. The licensed stallion Cannavaro and the FEI show jumpers Kleiner Lord, Luxus, and Zamorra S come from the same dam line.
