Bertram Allen has taken over the reins on Castlefield Vegas (Cassino x Lux Z), partnering up with the 11-year-old gelding for the Winter Equestrian Festival in Florida.
"I'm very pleased to welcome Castlefield Vegas (Cassino / Lux Z) owned by Ballywater Stables LTD and Ger O Neill - Castlefield Sport Horses together, to the stables. The 11-year-old gelding was bought by Martin Egan as a 3-year-old and has been an exceptional horse for Castlefield winning a European gold medal with Jason Foley and part of 3 winning nations cup teams for Ireland. Castlefield is already in Florida to join my team of horses!" Allen announced via social media yesterday.
With O'Neill in the saddle, Castlefield Vegas has already competed at five-star level. Foley rode the gelding to individual gold and team bronze at the European Championships for juniors in 2018. Last year, Foley and Castlefield Vegas were part of the Irish team that won the CSIO3* Nations Cup in Drammen.
