Christian Ahlmann and the German Equestrian Federation have finally found common ground when it comes to the terms in the contract between the two parties. Ahlmann, who rode his last major championship for Team Germany at the Olympic Games in Rio, has since then not accepted to sign the contract.
“There are two circumstances that affected my decision,” Ahlmann comments to World of Showjumping. ”At the end, the German NF made a huge step to change things which was actually something I did not believe would happen. There are still many things to improve, but the NF has now taken this step and I believe that they are really trying. Another point is my motivation to try to win something big with the German team, to do another good Championship - this is still there. Combined, this made me sign the agreement.”
