Julien Epaillard's Donatello d'Auge (Jarnac x Hello Pierville) – bred by his wife Susana Epaillard – tops the 2023 WBFSH Breeder Ranking for a third consecutive month, leading the way with 1603 points. The latest ranking includes results for the period from 1 October 2022 to 31 August 2023.
Kent Farrington's Landon (born Crack de Nyze Z, Comilfo Plus Z x Quadrillo) – bred by Danny Nijs – goes up from rank no. three to sit second this month with 1515 points, while Henrik von Eckermann's Iliana (Cardento 933 x Gentleman) – bred by J.A.M. Bocken – is ranked third with 1492 points, equal with Harrie Smolders' Monaco N.O.P. (Cassini II x Contender) – bred by Ralf Leutja. Conor Swail's Theo 160 (Christian 25 x Calando IV) – bred by Jenny Abrahamsson – drops from rank no. two to five this month with a total of 1458 points.
The Breeder Rankings are published monthly from the April extraction cycle onwards. At the end of the cycle, the breeder of the horse with the most points in each discipline is crowned WBFSH Breeder of the Year for each respective discipline. The top breeders are celebrated during the Longines WBFSH Breeder Awards.
For the studbooks, Studbook Selle Francais (SBSF) climbs to the top with 7512 points, with Donatello d'Auge, Dynamix de Belheme (Snaike de Blondel x Cornet Obolensky, bred by Frederic Aimez) and Dzara Dorchival (Qlassic Bois Margot x Raphael, bred by Sebastian Fonck) as their best three horses. The Holsteiner Verband sits second with a total of 7415 points – with Monaco N.O.P., Theo 160 and Zaccorado Blue (Zirocco Blue VDL x Acorado I, bred by Tanja Schramm) as their top three. Studbook Zangersheide is third with 7242 points, with Landon, Dexter Fontenis Z (Diarado x Voltaire, bred by S.C.R.I S.KY Horses) and Legacy (born Chavantele Z, Chippendale Z x Bon Ami, breeder Romain Rotty) as their three leading ambassadors.
