At the age of 26, Vivant vd Heffinck (Fuego du Prelet x Landino) has passed away. During his time in the sport, the stallion had huge success: With Australia's Chris Chugg in the saddle, Vivant jumped at the 2010 World Championships in Kentucky where the pair ended 21st individually. Chugg and Vivant also went to the 2010 World Cup Finals in Geneva, where they finished 7th overall.

After his success with Chugg, Vivant was sold to Aleksandr Onishchenko – then representing Ukraine – and went on to compete with both Katharina Offel and Cassio Rivetti. In 2012, Vivant competed at the Olympic Games in London with Offel and in 2014 at World Championships in Caen with Cassio Rivetti – where he ended 8th individually. Vivant and Rivetti also competed at the 2015 European Championships in Aachen.

Furthermore, Vivant contributed to several Nations Cup wins for Ukraine – both with Offel and Rivetti – and in 2012 he won the Selection Trials for the London Olympic Games in Aachen with Offel in the saddle.

After a long and successful career, Vivant was retired in 2016 – aged 18.

Over the last years, Vivant has been breeding in Ireland – at Coolballyshan Stud in County Limerick. “Vivant has sadly passed away, he was a world class horse and it was an honour to have him at Coolballyshan Stud. Thanks to all the breeders that supported him. It’s been a sad few days,” Kieran Kennedy posted on Facebook.

At World of Showjumping, our thoughts go out to all those close to Vivant.
