After entering retirement in the summer of 2016, the now 19-year-old stallion Vivant van de Heffinck (Fuego du Prelet x Landino) has been sold to Kieran Kennedy’s Coolballyshan Stud in Limerick, Ireland.
“We are delighted to announce the purchase of Vivant van de Heffinck,” states Kieran Kennedy. “This stunning horse will begin his Irish stud career in 2018. He is a very impressive addition to our existing stallion list. Fresh and frozen semen will be available for our overseas customers. Vivant will offer new exciting breeding opportunities for Irish and international breeders.”
Vivant vd Heffinck had huge success on the international showjumping scene. With Australia's Chris Chugg in the saddle, Vivant jumped at the 2010 World Championships in Kentucky where the pair ended 21st individually. Chugg and Vivant also went to the 2010 World Cup Finals in Geneva, where they finished 7th overall. In 2012, Vivant competed at the Olympic Games in London with Katharina Offel and later went on to the 2014 World Championships with Cassio Rivetti to end 8th individually as well as jumping at the 2016 European Championships in Aachen.
