This week, the FEI General Assembly 2025 takes place in Hong Kong, China, and on Tuesday the FEI Board gathered for the second FEI Board meeting of the year.
The Board approved appointments to the FEI Technical Committees, and Guilherme Jorge (BRA) – FEI level four course designer – was appointed as a member of the FEI Jumping Committee for a four-year term (2025-2030), replacing Louis Konickx (NED).
The terms of reference and composition of the Grooms Consultative Group was another of the items on the agenda, and the suggested changes were approved. Amelia Gomez-Su (MEX) and Olivier Philippaerts (BEL) will replace Susanne Macken (IRL) and Max Kühner (AUT) as the officials’ and athletes’ representatives respectively.
A venue change for the first leg of the Longines League of Nations™ 2026 in Abu Dhabi was also approved, moving the competition from Al Forsan International Sports Resort to the Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club.
The Board reviewed the situation of athletes from Russia and Belarus as the subject was raised by the relevant national federations. As of 1 January 2026, Russian and Belarusian athletes will be allowed to compete in team competitions under a neutral flag, and organizing FEI events in Belarus will be allowed.
