The FEI General Assembly 2025: Quentin Simonet elected as the EEF Regional Group President, while Stephan Ellenbruch secures third term as FEI Jumping Committee Chair

The hybrid-format of the FEI General Assembly 2025 took place in Hong Kong, China, on Friday. A total of 66 from the 136 FEI national federations were present in person, while 14 were voting online, reaching the necessary quorum of 68.

The FEI Extraordinary General Assembly approved the proposed modifications to the FEI Statutes with a result of 78 votes in favour, 2 votes against.

The FEI General Assembly approved the FEI President Role Description, the proposed modifications to the FEI Internal Regulations, the FEI General Regulations, the Olympic Qualification Systems for jumping, the FEI Jumping Rules, and the proposed modifications to the FEI Veterinary Regulations –as well as other discipline specific rules.

The proposed FEI Jumping Rules article 259 – Jumping Recorded Warnings – was approved by a separate vote with a result of 56 votes in favour, 20 against, and 2 abstentions.

Quentin Simonet (FRA) was elected EEF Regional Group President for a one-year term (2025-2026), while Stephan Ellenbruch (GER) was re-elected as Chair of the FEI Jumping Committee for the four-year term 2025-2029 – his third in the position. To the FEI Tribunal, Armand Leone (USA) was re-elected and Sarra Saidi (FRA) and Barnaby Hone (GBR) were elected as members for the four-year term 2025-2029.

As FEI Secretary General Sabrina Ibáñez wrapped up the seven-hour long assembly, she informed the delegates that the FEI Sports Forum 2026 will be held in Lausanne, Switzerland, on 30 and 31 March 2026. The dedicated sessions at the 2026 FEI Sports Forum will include Marketing & Communication strategy 2026-2028; youth to elite pathway; rules and regulations: Olympic and Paralympic Regulations LA28; Dressage & Para Dressage Rules; Equine Welfare & Safety as well as Veterinary Matters: Advancing Rules, Research & Responsibility.
