Hessel Hoekstra’s Icoon VDL (VDL Bubalu x Cardento) has been sold, and this week the 9-year-old stallion made his debut with his new rider Cian O’Connor in Vejer de la Frontera, Spain – now competing under the name Rock of Cashel.

“Delighted with a new mount the 9 year old Rock of Cashel (formally Icoon VDL) in our first show together. Looking forward to stepping him up slowly over the next few weeks,” O’Connor wrote on his official Facebook page. 

With Hoekstra in the saddle, Icoon VDL won this year’s CSI3* Grand Prix of Eindhoven and finished third in the CSIO5* Grand Prix of Falsterbo.
