Belgium’s Jos Verlooy has today announced that his top horse Igor (Emerald x Nabab de Reve) will be missing out on the Olympic Games in Tokyo due to an injury.

On his Instagram profile, Verlooy writes: “So sad to announce that Igor and I will not be able to take part in the Olympics due to Igor’s sudden injury.”

The pair was a part of the Belgian team at the 2018 World Equestrian Games in Tryon, as well as the 2019 European Championships in Rotterdam, where they won team gold as well as claiming individual bronze.
