The organisers of Jumping International de Bordeaux have today announced the cancellation of their 2022-edition. The event, scheduled to run from 3 to 6 February 2022, was supposed to host one of the legs in the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup Western European League 2021/2022 season, which has already been reduced to six legs after Helsinki (FIN), Stuttgart (GER), Mechelen (BEL), Amsterdam (NED) and Basel (SUI) all cancelled their shows prior to Bordeaux. Ahead of the final in Leipzig (GER) in April, the only qualifier currently remaining in the calendar for the WEL 2021/2022-season is Gothenburg (SWE), scheduled for February.

The organising committee of Jumping International de Bordeaux announced that the cancellation has been made due to the current Covid-restrictions in France:

"Due to the health restrictions imposed on sporting events and shows by the French government on 27 December, the 2022 edition of the Jumping International de Bordeaux cannot be held. The Organizing Committee of the Jumping International de Bordeaux and the Salon du Cheval de Bordeaux announces today the cancellation of the 2022 editions which were to take place from 3 to 6 February 2022.

Until the very last moment, the teams of Congrès et Expositions de Bordeaux, organizer of the event, worked to maintain a 2022 edition, considering all options, including that of a postponement in March, unfortunately without succeeding."
