After nearly 4.5 years working for Stephan Conter’s Stephex Stables in Wolvertem, Belgium, USA’s Michael Hughes will be returning home.

Having started his career riding with his parents Eamonn and Cathy Hughes, as well as Missy Clark at North Run, the now 29-year-old went on to work at Ashford Farm before joining the Stephex-team in August 2020.

“It is a bittersweet feeling closing the chapter on my time at Stephex after having called it home for the past five years,” Hughes told World of Showjumping. “I am very grateful for the time I have spent there, the friends I have made, and the opportunities that have been offered to me. I can’t thank Stephan enough for his support and guidance.”
