Philippe Le Jeune has been appointed as the new Chef d'Equipe for the Moroccan showjumping team, a position that previously belonged to Marcel Delestre.

"Originally, I was asked to train only Abdelkebir Ouaddar – but a few days ago I was requested to become the Chef d'Equipe for the whole team," Le Jeune tells World of Showjumping. "This is something I always wanted to do, so I am very pleased. Being a coach and a trainer for an equestrian nation with potential for growth is very interesting. Even though Morocco does not have many riders, they are all talented and they have some really nice horses. I will try to share my experience and knowledge with them, to help them get to a higher level."

"Morocco is qualified for the Olympic Games in Tokyo, but there is of course a lot of uncertainty about what will happen next year. For 2021, I don't have unrealistic goals – it comes too early. My contract is for two years, and what I would like the Moroccan team to achieve is to have a good result at the next World Equestrian Games. Since Nations Cups always have been close to my heart, I would also like to help them get a home win in Rabat. There is nothing better than winning a Nations Cup on home soil! I am very focused on that, but of course my job is to develop the Moroccan equestrianism as a whole," Le Jeune closes off.
