Michael Whitaker and Joe Clayton’s ride Velini (Cheers Cassini x Kigali) has been sold to Ukraine. The 9-year-old stallion owned and bred by Simon Davies has been ridden by Michael, as well as his stable jockey Joe Clayton since the beginning of 2014 - and in August this year Velini was on the winning British team in the Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup in Gijon jumping a double clear round.

Now Velini will fly the Ukrainian flag for Alexander Onischenko and his riders. Onischenko also bought Calcourt Falkland from Whitaker earlier this year.
