Switzerland’s Barbara Schnieper and the 12-year-old mare Canice (Cascadello x Cornet Obolensky) won Saturday’s CSI5* 1.60m The Cathay Cargo Reach for the Skies Stakes at the Longines Hong Kong International Horse Show 2025.

With a time of 37.70, Schnieper was the quickest in a jump-off between four horse-and-rider combinations at AsiaWorld Expo, topping a field of 18 participants in the competition counting for the Longines Rankings Group B. John Whitaker (GBR) and Equine America Unick du Francport (Zandor x Helios de la Cour II) took the runner-up spot with the second double clear result of the competition, while a four faults in 41.17 left Scott Brash (GBR) and Hello Chadora Lady (Chacco-Blue x Nintender) to third. With eight penalties in 39.18 in the jump-off, Sanne Thijssen (NED) and Chiara VDH (Chacco-Blue x Mr Blue) finished fourth, while Rodrigo Giesteira Almeida (POR) and Solidat (Semper Fi x Chacco-Blue) took the fifth spot as the fastest four-faulters from round one.

The second CSI5* class of the day, the 1.55m Longines Stakes – a competition counting for the Longines Rankings Group C – went to Richard Vogel (GER) and the 11-year-old Cloudio (Casall x San Patrignano Cassini) ahead of Scott Brash (GBR) and Hello Senator (Carambole x Indoctro) in second and Patrick Lam (HKG) aboard Dakota (Denver V x Nissan Rex Z) in third.
